Air Show at Nellis

Let's just say, the day didn't look too promising.  We knew there were crowds, but this seemed like an awfully long line.  We were surprised how quickly it moved though. We were in line only about a half hour, and then onto the bus to Nellis Air Force Base. 

Can you believe the size of this cargo plane?  

Watching the F-22 Raptor fly was amazing.  It was like watching something right out of Star Wars.

 

The Thunderbirds were the highlight of the day.

  

 

As we walked around looking at the planes, we heard the announcer say, "In plane #6 from Clarkston Washington...."

We looked at each other as if to ask,  "Did he really just say Clarkston, Washington?"

"...is Captain Aaron Jelenik." 

It made it doubly fun watching for plane #6 to make his maneuvers. Captain Jelenik is known as the "opposing solo" in the show.
